My artwork has a primary concern in examining the historical and contemporary presence and absence of the melanated body and how it is acknowledged, defined, loved, celebrated, hated and negated.
I use references and images from television, films, and publications to remix them in assemblages that examine the concept of racial division, based on social engineering and the mass production of images that we are exposed to daily. Since its inception, mass media has been an influential lens on our cultural perception of others while manipulating our emotions. In a world of growing apathy, we must investigate the cause in order to defeat its impact. In the end, may love win.
